The Balancing Act of PFML in Multiple States

Wednesday 3:10 – 4:10pm

Session Description

The onset of COVID in 2020 forced many employers to deal with remote workforces for the first time. As a result, employers now have to deal with statutory benefits for the first time or deal with benefits in multiple states. This program walks through common elements among statutory programs, their impact to benefits such as STD, PTO, Sick Time and how to build a comprehensive program that will not only help in attracting and retaining talent but keeping the employer in compliance.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understanding how benefit programs (STD and LOA) are impacted by statutory benefit programs.
  2. Building a strategy around benefits for employees in statutory and non-statutory states
  3. Understanding how Paid Sick Leave laws play into PFML and benefit programs
