When HR Takes the Stand: Testifying about Your Investigation

Session Description

This session will provide tips on preparing to take the witness stand. We will discuss the dos and don’ts for an effective testimony.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will learn about best practices for conducting internal investigations into employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation or other potential legal issues.
  • Participants will learn how to avoid common mistakes and pitfalls in internal investigations.
  • Participants will learn how to effectively testify about their investigation in a deposition or at trial, in the event the complaining employee later files legal claims.
