Session Description

The employment law update will help human resources professionals learn about legal developments and other emerging regulatory issues affecting the workplace.

Learning Objectives

  1.  Learn the latest employment law cases from federal and state courts.
  2. Learn the latest HR developments with federal enforcement agencies (EEOC, DOL, NLRB);
  3. Anticipate what is on the HR horizon and potential developments that should be monitored.

 


Michael Blumenthal

Michael Blumenthal is a founding member of Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC, a Kansas City-based law firm representing businesses across the United States in employment matters and business litigation.

Missouri Lawyers Weekly has twice named Mike as one of the “most powerful employment attorneys in Missouri” and he has been repeatedly selected by The Best Lawyers in America as Kansas City’s “Lawyer of the Year” in labor and employment litigation. Mike has also received numerous other professional accolades for his work as an employment lawyer and as a trial lawyer representing businesses.

Mike is a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, which recognizes those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field of labor and employment law. He is the past president and a former board member of the Society for Human Resource Management of Johnson County, and he is frequent speaker at human resources and employment law seminars.

Mike received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas. He is also an accomplished martial artist, holding a sixth-degree black belt in traditional karate.
